In October of last year, I celebrated my 3rd 10th birthday. As a new member of the 30 and over club, I realized it was time to really start taking care of my skin. For me, this meant removing makeup before going to bed, getting enough sleep, and drinking water.
It wasn't until this March that I realized that some of the skincare I was using on a consistent basis, I had been purchasing for over 10 years. Now, you may be familiar with the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". But for me, it just wasn't working anymore. With changes in hormones, lifestyle, and environment, it was time for a chance. Just like your body will become immune to your deodorant if you use the same brand for too long, it's also important to switch up your skincare products to adapt to your lifestyle needs . However, please keep in mind that switching products too often is never a good practice.
For me, more than ever, I realized that taking care of my skin meant nourishing it with moisture. Naturally, I have oily-combination skin. So, I always thought that moisturizing my skin would leave it too oily. In actuality, it's all about finding the right products; whether, they are more gel-based versus creams or lighter products versus a heavy base. In the past month, I have become akin to serums, essences, moisturizers, even hydrating masks! And I must admit, my skin has been glowing! So in addition to removing my makeup before bed, getting enough rest, and drinking water, here are a few products that I have added to my skincare routine that I absolutely LOVE:
Laneige Lavender Water Sleeping Mask; $25.00 at Sephora
Ole Henriksen Glow2Oh Dark Spot Toner; $29.00 at Sephora
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid; $6.80 at Sephora
